Description
Senior Highways Engineer An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Highways Engineer to join a growing highways engineering team in London. This role is ideal for someone with around 6-9 years' experience who is looking to take ownership of projects while working within a collaborative and supportive environment. You'll play a key role in delivering highway infrastructure projects across a diverse portfolio of developments, working with a broad range of private sector clients including developers, landowners, housebuilders, retailers, universities, healthcare providers and contractors. This position offers varied project work, genuine career progression and the opportunity to make a significant contribution to a well-established engineering consultancy. Key Responsibilities ·Deliver highway design projects from concept through to construction. ·Design highway schemes in accordance with DMRB, Manual for Streets 1 & 2, LTN 1/20 and local authority design standards. ·Produce engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. ·Prepare technical reports, calculations and design documentation. ·Manage and coordinate Section 278 and Section 38 highway schemes. ·Review utility diversions associated with highway works. ·Apply CDM Regulations 2015 throughout project delivery. ·Work collaboratively with transport planners, engineers and technicians to deliver integrated solutions. ·Assist with project management, programme delivery and client liaison. ·Prepare fee proposals, technical submissions and tender documentation. ·Support the preparation of optioneering studies, GG104 Risk Assessments, GG142 Walking, Cycling and Horse-Riding Assessments and GG119 Road Safety Audits. About You You'll ideally have: ·A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. ·Approximately 6-9 years' experience in highways design, ideally within a consultancy environment. ·Strong knowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets, Section 278 and Section 38 processes. ·Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTrack and MicroDrainage. ·An understanding of National Highways and London Borough design standards. ·Membership of, or working towards membership of, ICE or CIHT. ·Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. ·Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects. ·A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
